If you’re having a rough start to the day, don’t dwell on everything you’re missing out on or all the big things you can’t quite find the motivation to do today. Instead, make the little things better. If you’re sitting on the couch, look around you and figure out a few things that would make that space better. Pick up the garbage, take dirty glasses to the sink, straighten out your desk. If you’re sitting on your bed, put away the clothes you have lying on the floor, reorganize the things on top of your dresser, clean up the pile of stuff that’s been sitting on your nightstand for weeks.
Sometimes, doing these little things and making the immediate space around you a little better can also help declutter your mind. And if it doesn’t work, at least your space can be fresh for tomorrow, and you should feel good about that.
